Are You a Librarian? is a community documentary screening & discussion exploring the vital history and impact of Black librarians in the US.
About this Event

Join us for a family-friendly screening and discussion of “Are You a Librarian: The Untold Story of Black Librarians,” by Hoosier librarian Rodney Freeman. The documentary delves into the rich and often overlooked history of Black librarianship in the United States. The documentary traces the journey of Black librarians from the era of slavery through the implementation of affirmative action policies. It highlights their pivotal roles in establishing libraries, promoting literacy, and advocating for equal access to information within their communities.

Free event with refreshments. Each registrant will receive a free book.
