A meaningful and informative exploration of the key elements of Anticipatory Grief - Grief prior to the actual loss
About this Event

Anticipatory Grief can start after a loved one has been diagnosed with a terminal illness; and it is experienced by both the dying person and his or her close loved ones. It is a complex concept and, while it shares similarities with Post-Death Grief, there are a number of significant differences.

This is an informative, thought-provoking and meaningful one-day workshop; and will be extremely beneficial for anyone that is starting to work in palliative care.

In addition, it will also be most useful for any counsellor, psychotherapist, or holistic practitioner who works with bereaved clients. With those clients, they may have lost their loved one after a terminal illness. In which case, a good grasp of Anticipatory Grief will heighten the practitioner's empathy and enrich their presence with the clients.

This workshop has a twofold purpose - (a) a stand-alone informative workshop on Anticipatory Grief, and (b) Day 1 of our accredited Three-Day Level 4 Certificate in Understanding Anticipatory Grief.
