A 2-hour guided tour of one of Britain's best preserved Victorian sites. Be inspired by museum displays, wander historic ramparts and go below ground to see the gun decks and ammunition storage. This event is intended for first-time visitors to the Fort but everyone is welcome.
Admission is by advance ticket only; these cost £5 per person. Tickets are on sale now and a limited number of car parking spaces are available for £2.50 per vehicle. Under 5s do not require a ticket and under-18s must be accompanied by an adult.
The format of the day is simple. Meet at 10am in the Guardroom for an introduction to Crownhill Fort and its role as part of the wider Plymouth defences. From here, uniformed tour guides will lead the group around the Fort highlighting important historic features and concluding with firing of a Field Gun on the Parade Ground.
