Join us for a special evening with New York Times bestselling author Marjan Kamali, in conversation with Peggy Harvey, Chief Curator of Perkins Cove Bookshop, at the Barn Gallery in Ogunquit.
The evening will center on Kamali’s acclaimed New York Times bestseller, The Lion Women of Tehran, a sweeping story of friendship, courage, betrayal, and resistance set against three transformative decades in Iran. Kamali and Harvey will discuss the novel, the history and experiences that inform her work, and her remarkable career as a writer whose books have now been translated into more than 30 languages. The conversation will be followed by an audience Q&A and book signing.

Beginning in 1950s Tehran, The Lion Women of Tehran follows Ellie and Homa, two girls from very different backgrounds whose intense childhood friendship is tested by class, separation, betrayal, and the political upheavals transforming Iran.
