About this event

The Oxford Speculative Fiction Group is hosting the highly acclaimed sci-fi and fantasy author Adrian Tchaikovsky for a Q&A at Jesus College. Adrian Tchaikovsky is an incredibly prolific and successful author, whose works include Children of Time , Shadows of the Apt , and the Dogs of War series, as well as standalone novels such as Service Model.

Tchaikovsky has won numerous awards, including the Arthur C Clarke and the Hugo Award for the Children of Time series, of which the fourth instalment, Children of Strife, is set to be released on 26/03/2026.


The event is FREE, and you will have the opportunity to ask Adrian Tchaikovsky questions during the audience Q&A.



About the author

After studying Zoology and Psychology at Reading, then practising Law in Leeds, Adrian Tchaikovsky built a prolific career in speculative fiction. His awards include the Arthur C Clarke Award for Children of Time, the Hugo Award for the Children of Time series, the British Fantasy Award for The Tiger and the Wolf, and the BSFA Award for Saturation Point. Universal Pictures is currently developing Saturation Point for the big screen.

His books deal with themes of nonhuman intelligence, the natural world, the wider universe, and animal sentience, all of which he uses as a vehicle to explore human intelligence and society. Tchaikovsky often attends a variety of conventions and author events throughout the year, and is a very keen live role-player who is trained in stage-fighting.

He lives in Leeds with his family.
