The Healing Page uses words to help you nurture well-being, find calm, and explore what healing feels like, to guide you forward.
About this Event

In this first of a series of extended Saturday afternoon sessions, you will be able to get a sense of where your writing wants to take you, as you explore some long-form pieces.

Set in a wonderful library, looking onto a quiet garden, you will be encouraged to use simple writing techniques to explore anything that may be sitting with you. With each writing exercise the group will gently settle and discussions and responses will naturally flow.

All abilities welcome. This session will suit anyone who is interested in using writing as a form of self-expression and self-exploration.

All writing materials will be provided, but feel free to bring a favourite journal or pen if you have one.

Herb teas and healthy snacks will also be provided.

Guided by Anne-Marie Cockburn, who brings over 15 years of experience leading and co-facilitating writing-led well-being sessions, having collaborated with a diverse range of groups and organisations, including the NHS Senior Leadership Team, University of Oxford (Apprentice Well-being Day), Restore (Well-being Day), the Youth in Mind Conference, the Free Word Festival (online), and Pr*son groups through Restore, the Pr*son programme run by The Forgiveness Project. These experiences have demonstrated how creative writing can serve as a powerful tool for reflection, emotional well-being and connection—regardless of background or circumstance.

She is the author of the critically acclaimed book, 5,742 Days: A Mother's Journey Through Loss, which was launched on BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour, selling over 10,000 copies. Her work focuses on using personal experience as a tool for healing.

No prior writing experience is necessary, just turn up as you are in this very moment. Booking essential as spaces are limited.
