About this Event
An Evening of Qawwali with the Warsi Brothers invites audiences into an immersive journey through one of South Asia’s most profound devotional music traditions.
The Warsi Brothers are among today’s most revered exponents of traditional qawwali, inheriting a spiritual and musical legacy that spans more than seven centuries. Their lineage, the legendary Qawaal Bachhey, traces directly to Hazrat Amir Khusrau, the 13th-century poet-saint widely regarded as the originator of qawwali.
Warsi Brothers are an Indian Qawwali musical group, consisting of brothers Nazeer Ahmed Khan Warsi and Naseer Ahmed Khan Warsi (the Qawwāls), along with accompanists (the humnawa or party). They are based in Hyderabad, India.
Known for their powerful vocals, intricate harmonium accompaniment, and deeply immersive performances, the brothers present qawwali in its most authentic classical form, where music becomes devotion and storytelling transforms into a transcendent experience. Trained under their grandfather, Padma Shri Aziz Ahmed Khan Warsi, they embody the classical discipline and spiritual depth of the Delhi Gharana.
