An Evening of Poetry Fun!

Join us for a night of poetry and stories from a variety of local artists, including poets, playwrights, cartoonists, and zine-makers! Grab a seat, a drink or a snack - and even your own customized, typewritten poem by Juniper’s own poet Abby Hetherington - to hear Maddox Dempsey, Stevie Kilgore, Rick V., and Santina share original work that you won’t soon forget!
Maddox Dempsey is a poet-playwright who writes “at the scale where people actually live: the farmer's market, the MARATHON gas station, the intersection of Seventh & Indiana.”
Poet-playwright-puppeteer Stevie Kilgore’s work defamiliarizes the dentist, dreams, and drag.
Punk cartoonist Rick V. doodles comics, writes zines, and tells stories of punk scenes past.
Musician and zine-maker Santina’s work continues the riotgrrrl tradition here in Bloomington.
Abby Hetherington is most interested in poetry as a conversation, and enjoys writing for other people, on-the-spot, with an electric typewriter.
