Last Sunday Poetry Reading & Open Mic
The Writers Guild at Bloomington presents Last Sunday Poetry, featuring J.I.B. & Nikki Chaos.
J.I.B. is a prose poet and essayist from Southern Ohio. His work has been published in journals, magazines, and various Midwest presses. You can follow his work, travels, and performances on Instagram @j.i.b.trash.poet or on Facebook @ J Ian Bush.
Praise for American Television, by J.I.B.:
"What makes J.I.B.'s *American Television* (Spartan Press, 2024) great is its pulsating subtext of sincerity--that cries out against the toxicity of contemporary American life, much like Allen Ginsberg's 'Howl.' These poems are just as eloquent and urgently relevant for today's generation."
--Hiromi Yoshida, Chair, Writers Guild at Bloomington
NIKKI CHAOS is a confessional poet from Portsmouth, Ohio and author of the book *Pussy.* In addition to poetry, Nikki performs various sideshow acts including sword swallowing and fire eating and spent 15 years as a journalist.
Praise for Pussy, by Nikki Chaos:
"Nikki Chaos's *Pussy* is raw and visceral, taking confessional poetry to a radical raggedy edge. Nikki converts her amazing survival experiences into words that have fire and punch. As Lydia Lunch might say, she has punched her way 'out of the trauma zone into the light'."
--Hiromi Yoshida
