An Evening of Escape: A Life of Resilience
Hosted by the Hubbard House Underground Railroad Museum
Join us on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at the Riverbend Hotel & Suites in Ashtabula, Ohio, for a powerful evening celebrating resilience, leadership, history, and community.
The evening will begin with hors d’oeuvres at 6:30 PM, followed by dinner and the program from 7:00–9:00 PM.
✨ Featured Guest: André Thornton — Former Cleveland Indians All-Star, Silver Slugger Award recipient, and 1979 Roberto Clemente Award winner. Following an outstanding 21-year professional baseball career, André became a successful entrepreneur, business executive, and nationally recognized leadership speaker. He currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of ASW Global, LLC, and has dedicated his career to leadership, community service, and organizational excellence.
Guests will enjoy an inspiring program highlighting the legacy of the Hubbard House and the resilience of those who sought freedom and those who courageously assisted them. The evening will also provide opportunities to support the museum’s continued preservation and educational efforts.
A raffle featuring a variety of prize baskets will be held during the event. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase, and winners will be drawn before the evening concludes.

Proceeds benefit the Hubbard House Underground Railroad Museum, a nationally recognized historic site dedicated to preserving and sharing the stories of freedom seekers and those who helped them.
