Calling graphic novel lovers, space enthusiasts, and cat defenders alike! Join us at the bookstore as we welcome Drew Brockington, author and illustrator of the hilarious and STEM-filled Catstronauts series, upon the publication of the 8th book, MODULE MAYHEM (ages 6-10). Once again, Drew has delivered a full-color graphic novel with real NASA history and science, from hazardous spacecraft and budget cuts to the real search for extraterrestrial life!
At the event, Drew will share behind-the-scenes details about the series and its silly cats, his own interest and experience with space science, and the process of creating comics. He’ll also treat us to some live drawing on our easel! His presentation will be followed by an audience Q&A before attendees can queue up to get books personalized. Other books in the series will be available for purchase and signing as well. The event is targeted at kids but anyone is welcome to attend.
All tickets come with a pre-signed paperback copy of the new book. All attendees will need a ticket to attend. (Kids will need an adult on premise but they are welcome to browse on the adult side if they don’t wish to sit for the event.)
About MODULE MAYHEM: It’s business as mew-sual for the CatStronauts. Their space station has been in orbit for over twenty-five years, and the new Jimmy Wub Wub telescope has been deployed without a scratch. But when the president is convinced to cut all funding to the CATSUP space program, Blanket is left in orbit! It’s up to Major Meowser, Waffles, Pom Pom, and even Cat-Stro-Bot to rescue Blanket from space! Could evidence of aliens be the key to this rescue?
Drew Brockington…has flown a space shuttle, helped repair the International Space Station, and served in Mission Control—all during a week at Space Camp. He works at his drawing table while his dog’s ghost snores at his feet. He lives with his family in Minneapolis.
