An Evening in White: Tea & Mindfulness
About this Event
Join tea monk Kursten Brewer and meditation teacher Mudra Love for a contemplative and embodied tea drinking ceremony.
We’ll savor rose, pu erh, and chrysanthemum from Kursten’s unique selection of ceremonial-grade teas while we practice shamatha (calm-abiding) and mindfulness meditation. Conversation is kept to a minimum, though not discouraged.
Together, we’ll slow down, sip intentionally, and create space for presence, reflection, and connection.
We hope you’ll join us 🌷
Kursten Brewer brings a wealth of wisdom in the art of pouring, serving, and savoring tea. Blending his deep knowledge of tea with experience in meditation and Gene Keys readings, he guides others through a process that invites quiet reflection and a deeper inward journey—all while enjoying exquisite ceremonial-grade teas.
Mudra Love is originally from Kathmandu, Nepal. Her introduction to meditation began with her father, a Buddhist monk of the Zen/ Chan tradition. Over time, she deepened her practice through training programs including Mindfulness Meditation with Jon Kabat-Zinn, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC). She currently practices at a Tibetan temple in Nu’uanu.
