America 250 Monument Dedication
Spirit of Freedom American Legion Post 76 will officially dedicate its America 250 monument on November 14, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada. Installed June 24 and unveiled June 27, 2026, the monument’s November dedication will be its official public commemoration.
Created for America’s 250th anniversary, the two-sided monument honors the men and women who secured American independence and those who served in the following 250 years to secure our freedom. Designed by Post 76 Historian Gary Parriott, it features bronze-colored figures mounted on polished black granite: the Concord Minuteman, representing the citizen-soldiers who answered the alarm in 1775, and Molly Pitcher, symbolizing women who sustained the Revolution at home, in camps, and on battlefields.
To support the monument’s educational mission, Post 76 created commemorative America 250 challenge coins depicting both figures, accompanied by illustrated historical cards. Distributed at public events, the coins and cards remain available in exchange for donations to help secure the monument’s future maintenance.
“Honoring America’s first veterans, and inspiring the next generation,” Parriott said. “Remembering their sacrifices means helping future generations understand why they still matter.”
