About this Event

Season 31 American Adventures 2: Go West!

2026 Winter Concert

The Sierra Vista Symphony is thrilled to continue our 31st Season, coinciding with the 250th anniversary of our nation's Declaration of Independence! To honor this momentous occasion, Maestro Tagawa has thoughtfully woven a selection of music from renowned American composers, including Aaron Copland, Meredith Willson, and Alan Hovhaness, into our program. Furthermore, you can look forward to captivating pieces from classical luminaries such as Liszt, Tchaikovski, and, of course, Beethoven. This thoughtfully curated music aims to celebrate our nation while uplifting, engaging, and elevating your spirits to soaring new heights.

For this matinee performance, our pre-concert seminar begins at 1:00 p.m. in the Lecture Pod, and the concert starts promptly at 2:00 p.m.

Please show up prior to concert start time or you will have to wait until a pause or break to be let in (during the applause.)

Please have virtual tickets or confirmation code ready at the door. We do not provide physical tickets for Eventbrite orders.

*Please note that Reserved Section tickets do not reserve individual seats, but allows from a selection of seating in the front rows of the auditorium.*

Concert Etiquette

Hold Your Applause - It is a common practice when watching classical concerts to hold your applause until the end of a music piece. However, this might get confusing if you're unfamiliar with the piece being performed. Your safest bet is to clap when most of the audience starts clapping.

Take Advantage of Intermissions - Concerts usually have intermissions; this is the time when it's OK to leave your seat. If you need to, you can go to the restroom, get a drink or a snack, or call someone on your cellphone during intermissions. It is also polite to wait for the end of a performance before leaving or returning to your seat.

Stay Quiet - This is the most important rule in concert etiquette. As best you can, avoid talking, whispering, whistling, singing along or humming to the music while the concert is ongoing so as not to distract other people.

Stay Still – A kind reminder: Of course, nobody expects you to sit perfectly still; however, stretching while you're seated, tapping your feet, cracking your knuckles or chewing gum are inappropriate.

Alarm Off - If you really need to bring these things with you, make sure to turn it off or set it to vibrate/silent mode before the concert starts.

Flashes Off - Flash photography is usually not allowed during concerts. The reason behind this is the flash from your camera can distract the musicians.

Mind Your Time - Make sure that you arrive before the concert starts, enough time to find a great seat.
