LeMelle, a distinguished native of New Iberia and a trailblazer in diplomacy and education. The Iberia African American Historical Society (IAAHS) is proud to host the dedication and unveiling of a historical marker in his honor.
Ambassador LeMelle's remarkable journey from New Iberia to the global stage as an Ambassador of the United States to Kenya and Seychelles, and his impactful roles in academia as President of Mercy College and the Phelps Stokes Fund, reflects his dedication to service and leadership. Join us as special family guests share intimate stories and reflections on his contributions to our community and the world.
This event not only celebrates Ambassador LeMelle's achievements but also inspires us to carry forward his legacy of leadership and commitment to public service.
