Omar Choudhury, MD
Vascular Neurologist
Dr. Omar Choudhury received his Bachelor of Science from McGill University and his
Doctor of Medicine from Saba University School of Medicine. He completed his
neurology residency at Henry Ford Health in Michigan — one of the nation’s leading
stroke centers — where he served as Chief Resident, followed by the completion of a
subspecialty fellowship in Vascular Neurology at the same institution.
Dr. Choudhury currently serves as a Vascular Neurologist at United Neuroscience
Institute and Director of Stroke and Neurointervention at Dignity Health Bakersfield,
rounding and providing neurology care across multiple hospital systems in the Central
Valley. His clinical expertise encompasses stroke prevention, recognition, and acute
treatment, with a focus on perfusion imaging and the application of artificial intelligence
in neurological care. A committed educator, he teaches residents, trainees, and patients
throughout Bakersfield’s medical community. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed
publications spanning stroke, carotid stenosis, atrial fibrillation, and cerebrovascular
disease, and has presented his work at the International Stroke Conference and the
Society of Vascular and Interventional Neurology. He is a member of the American
Academy of Neurology and the American Heart Association.
