About this Event
Harvard Book Store welcomes Alton Brown—television personality, food show presenter, food scientist, author, voice actor, and cinematographer—for a signing of his new book Food for Thought: Essays and Ruminations, a debut collection of personal essays defined by his flair, wit, and insight. The signing will take place beginning at 1:00pm on Saturday, February 8. People who have registered should arrive between 12:45pm, when doors to the signing line open, and 2:30pm to ensure their spot in line. Please read the following ticket and signing guidelines below.
Tickets and Book Pickup
- Tickets are required to join the signing line. Each ticket admin one (1) person and includes one (1) hardcover copy of Food for Thought: Essays and Ruminations.
- Tickets are non-refundable and non-returnable.
- Additional copies of Food for Thought: Essays and Ruminations will be available for purchase at the bookstore, along with copies of Alton's previous titles.
- Books included with ticket purchase can be picked up at check-in, but not before.
- If you purchase a ticket and can no longer make the event you will have 30 days after the event to pick up your book from the store.
Timeline
- The signing will begin at 1:00pm on Saturday, February 8, 2025.
- Doors will open to the signing line at 12:45pm. Harvard Book Store event staff will instruct attendees where to line up. Please do not arrive before 12:45pm.
- Ticket holders will receive their books at check-in.
- The signing will end around 3:00pm or later depending on the number of tickets sold. Folks who have registered should arrive between 12:45pm, when doors to the signing line open, and 2:30pm to ensure their spot in line.
- Ticket holders should expect that there will be some wait-time to get their books personalized.
- Ticket holders should expect that they may have to wait in line outside the bookstore as we can only allow a certain capacity of people into the store at once.
Signing Line Guidelines
- This signing is specifically for the release of Food for Thought: Essays and Ruminations.
- Alton Brown will personalize copies of Food for Thought: Essays and Ruminations (first names only for inscriptions) as well as his previous titles.
- Photos are allowed. Ticket holders should bring their own phones or cameras if they would like a photo.
