Alma Zygier (VIC) with Harry Mitchell - Jazz & Blues House Concert

Kidogo Arthouse presents Alma Zygier with Harry Mitchell — A House Concert, live in Fremantle on Monday 19 October 2026.
"There is a difference between very good singers and great ones. It can be difficult to define, but for me, it has to do with a singer's ability to inhabit a song, embody and believe it, and transmit that belief to the listener. Alma Zygier possesses that most rare ability. She is a great singer, both compelling and convincing." — Paul Kelly
Commanding the stage with a heady mix of jazz and blues, Melbourne-born songstress Alma Zygier brings a truly authentic yet modern grit to this timeless music. Her idiosyncratic vocals teeter on the edge of playful and peculiar — a balancing act she has perfected — and she masterfully portrays both her power and her fragility, delivering performances that are enigmatic, provocative, and quietly devastating.
Alma has graced the stages of Hamer Hall, Melbourne Recital Centre, Sydney Opera House, the Famous Spiegeltent and Wharf 1 Theatre, and performed at the Melbourne International Jazz Festival, Sydney Festival, Adelaide Fringe, Tamworth Country Music Festival, Port Fairy Folk Festival, WOMADelaide, Adelaide Cabaret Festival, Adelaide Festival and RocKwiz. She is also featured on Paul Kelly's latest album.
For this special one-night-only House Concert at Kidogo Arthouse, Alma is joined by the masterful Harry Mitchell on piano — an intimate, candlelit setting that suits her work perfectly. With the ocean just beyond the walls and the room held close around the music, expect an evening that lingers long after the final note.
About the Winter Series
This winter we're feeling a little nostalgic — so we're returning to our Soiree roots, bringing back the simple menus that launched our Soiree Series in the middle of Covid and made us famous. Expect a delicious, home-cooked "nostalgic" supper, served with soul. No table menus — you'll see the night's menu when you choose your artist and book your tickets.
We're proudly not a restaurant. Kidogo is an artist's concept of the best night out — a beautiful heritage venue perched beside the ocean (you can hear the waves as you eat), with stunning ambience, cosy candlelit lighting, spectacular acoustics, and curated high-end, collectable original art on the walls. Paired with the very best of Australian singers, songwriters and musicians, it's an unforgettable evening — and nothing like anywhere else in WA.
So simple. So homely. So nostalgic. Very intimate.
We're a small venue with a huge, loyal following — and our tickets always sell out fast.
On the Menu
All suppers begin with Joanna's homemade Irish soda bread, served warm from the oven, followed by your choice of soup:
Seafood chowder — white wine velouté with poached seafood, potato, sweet corn and fresh herbs.
Moroccan spiced broccoli — a vibrant green pureed soup with zucchini and toasted almonds. (Vegetarian)
To finish, a warm apple crumble — with a vegan, gluten-free ice cream available on request. (GF, Vegan)
Doors open at 6:00pm, for 6:30 start.
