Our quarterly chapter meetings are open to both the general public and NVBA's chapter members, ! Anyone interested in the birds of Northern Virginia is welcome! This event is free, and registration is not required; however, those who RSVP will receive reminder messages.
This meeting will also serve as our annual members meeting where membership will be asked to vote on NVBA business, including our annual budget for FY27.
Raptors in a Changing World
Raptors in northern Virginia face many challenges in our changing world. They are adapting to those challenges in many ways, sometimes successfully, and other times with greater difficulty.
In this presentation, Liz Dennison from Secret Garden Birds and Bees will discuss how raptors use their wits and abilities to survive climate change, toxins in the environment, loss of habitat, and emerging diseases. With live birds on hand, she will look at what gives some raptors a clear advantage over others that allows them to thrive - and even expand their populations. And, of course, we'll talk about why we need to support birds of prey and what we can all do to help them
