Allens Cross Cooking Club: Plastic Free July Picnic

Monthly budget-friendly cooking classes focused on simple, healthy meals, big flavour and practical money-saving skills.

Sessions are funded by Building Greener Communities!

Join us for the July session of Allens Cross Cooking Club, where we'll be making delicious picnic favourites from scratch and exploring simple ways to reduce packaging waste while saving money.

This month's session is inspired by Plastic Free July and focuses on easy homemade alternatives to convenience foods.

In this session, we'll be making:
🥐 Homemade sausage rolls using Sosmix
🫘 Crispy spiced lentil snacks
💡 Tips for creating affordable picnic food with less packaging waste!

Perfect for anyone wanting to:

  • Learn affordable new recipes
  • Cook healthy meals on a budget
  • Reduce food waste and packaging
  • Pick up practical cooking skills
  • Meet others in the community

No previous cooking experience needed.

  • Each monthly session must be booked separately (you do not need to attend them all)

Booking information:
A suggested £2 booking deposit helps us secure spaces, plan ingredients and dietary requirements, and reduce no-shows. The deposit is refundable after attending the session (minus Eventbrite fees).

All contributions go directly to the Building Greener Communities project — an initiative helping local residents live more sustainably through skills, community connection and practical climate-friendly activities.
