Duration: 9:30-12:30 – 3 hours

Target audience:

• Managers or designated safeguarding officers/leads based in Leicester City only
• Anyone working / volunteering with children in Leicester city only

Session Aim:

This training will provide an overview of the procedure for managing allegations against members of staff.

Session Objectives:

• Provide an overview of procedure for managing allegations against members of staff, paid or unpaid.
• Information about the role of the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) and the strategy meeting process.
• Awareness of where to report concerns and access advice and guidance.
• Discuss the threshold for harm, criminal behaviour and behaviour that puts children and young people at risk.
• Awareness of the outcome of the strategy meeting process and the resulting responsibilities of an employer.

This learning will help to meet the following Safeguarding Children SCP Competencies: 1-10, 13, 14 & 17
