Alex Huggins, Pitt County native and avid coastal fisherman, will be featured in the Ayden Museum’s Art Gallery on Saturday, April 25th, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Visitors may be able to get an up-close view of the process he uses to create rolled ink prints of some of his catches. Huggins prepares and eats almost everything he reels in, regardless of how ugly or weird it might look. He is fond of Asian-style cooking and many times can be seen adding sauces he has tweaked or created to flavor the fish filet, chunk or steak…quite likely cooking over charcoal. He will be happy to answer questions about his print process and about his interesting fishing techniques and homemade lures; although he might not share the locations of his favorite fishing spots. And do be sure to ask for the story about his unique flounder gig! The Ayden Museum is located at 554 Second Street in Ayden, and is open to the public on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. each week. You may schedule a special time by calling 746-4209.
