About this Event

Alex Hibbert is the world record-holding polar traveller who has skied further on an unsupported Arctic journey than anyone in history, and is one of only 11 people to have broken the polar unsupported 1000-mile barrier.

In 2008, he completed the Long Haul, crossing a 1374-mile new ice sheet route in 113 days without resupplies or physical support, finishing the week on almost no food. Traveling through other Arctic regions, he has also completed a high-speed icecap crossing (330 miles in less than 12 days) and routes in Svalbard, the Alaskan North Slope, High Arctic Canada and spent nearly half a year living with the Polar Eskimos.

Currently, he is developing his Dark Ice Project (crossing the North Pole in the winter via a novel route) and he is also building a lightweight Arctic vehicle, Project Bernard, which is documented in his Youtube channel.
