Course Description:
This 2.5-hour training explores couples therapy with a depth psychological perspective using Jung’s alchemical process as a container for couple’s therapy work. Participants will learn about the stages of the alchemical process, how it lends itself to couple’s work and how to integrate this frame with other therapeutic modalities.
Target Audience:
Mental health clinicians, psychologists, counselors, social workers and other professionals working with couples or interested in working with couples.
Instructional Level:
Intermediate to advanced. Appropriate for mental health professionals with foundational clinical experience seeking a new way to view, practice and hold the work of couple’s therapy. You do not need to be a couple’s therapist to attend.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of this program, participants will be able to:
- Describe the psychological alchemical progress as it applies to couple’s therapy.
- Explain the stages of the Jung’s alchemical process.
- Apply principles to couple’s work to expand expertise and to integrate depth psychological practices.
About Our Presenter:
Dr. Lisa Roth is a depth psychologist, expressive arts therapist, death doula, and therapeutic trainer/facilitator who has been working in the field for 26 years in various roles, venues and organizations.
Dr. Roth is a proponent and trainer for trauma-informed care and has worked exclusively with the Sanctuary model, creating psychological safe spaces for clients, clinicians, community partners and stakeholders. She is currently creating an expressive arts group facilitation manual for practitioners and community leaders.
