Alameda Legacy Home Tour: A Storybook Era - the Fernside, 1925-1936
About this Event
Join us on the Alameda Legacy Home Tour! Support preservation and spend the day on a lovely island visiting the interiors of seven unique historic homes built from 1925 to 1936, an era in which “Storybook” homes influenced by trends in Hollywood were all the rage. The homes are within walking distance of each other in Alameda's iconic Fernside neighborhood. Built on the former site of prominent historical figure A.A. Cohen’s magnificent Fernside estate, it features a unique concentration of homes that romanticized architectural styles borrowed from Medieval, Spanish Colonial, and American Colonial periods.
