Alabama Nonprofit Film Festival
Schedule
Thu Oct 03 2024 at 04:00 pm to 06:30 pm
UTC-05:00Location
Birmingham–Jefferson Convention Complex | Birmingham, AL
The film festival is open to community members, nonprofit leaders, foundation staff and trustees, potential donors, the media, elected officials, and AAN members. It will be a great networking opportunity for all.
Before premiering the films, participants will hear from Tony Bowen, Executive Director of Fidelity Charitable® Catalyst Fund, Elaine Martyn, Senior VP of the Private Donor Group at Fidelity Charitable, and Marsha Morgan with the Birmingham Change Fund. Stay tuned to learn about our evolving agenda.
This event is a celebration of Alabama's nonprofits with networking, good food, beer, and wine, and the ability to learn more about our “film stars” at informational booths before and after the event. You're welcome to come early and stay late! Our red carpet photo booth opens at 4:00.
The nonprofits featured were selected through a competitive grants process and include an array of nonprofits that represent the diversity of our communities and the causes so many of you care about. Many of the nonprofits are focused on serving communities of color, particularly given the under representation of Black leaders in our nonprofit sector. Did you know that only 10% of nonprofit executives in Alabama are Black compared to 27% of our state’s population (according to our State of the Sector report)?
Join us as we celebrate Alabama's nonprofits in ten creative short films. The dress code is business attire.
