About this Event
Paris Avenue Writers' Group provides tools to help you set and attain your creative goals. The group is facilitated by Tania De'Shawn.
Begins Sunday, January 14, 2024 from 3-5 p.m. CT.
Join us for this monthly workshop every second Sunday from 3- 5 p.m. at the home of Charlotte Donlon. Each session stands alone and builds on prior sessions, so you are welcome to register for one or more.
Admission $25/monthly session

Paris Avenue Writers' Group Takeaways:
Participants will:
- Generate a custom roadmap to their creative success and have monthly accountability check-ins
- Create a project for 2024 and have opportunities to share their work during class and receive constructive feedback
- Receive monthly mental strategies such as building self-trust and confidence and working through imposter syndrome
- Build their social media portfolio
- Build a creative community that extends beyond the class
Beverages and snacks will be provided.

Tania De'Shawn is a Birmingham native and author of her debut self-published poetry collection, be gentle with black girls. She is the Magic City Poetry Festival Eco Light Poet, outreach and social media coordinator for Alabama Humanities Alliance, owner of Element Agape, Prometheus Dreaming Unbound Finalist, Greater Birmingham Arts Collab Teaching Artist, Flourish Alabama teaching artist, Pen America teaching artist, 2022 Keynote Speaker for the Birmingham Public Library Local Authors Expo, 2020 NextGen Fellow, 2018 Sheperd Higher Education Consortium on Poverty Intern, 2017 Gilman Scholar, 2015 Teaching & Writing Center Intern for High Rocks Academy for Girls.
