Agos Y Viento (the mother daughter show)

AGOS Y VIENTO (a mother-daughter Sarswela at the Philly Fringe/CannonBall) is an UNAPOLOGETICALLY Pinoy socio-political theater by mother-daughter duo Anito Gavino and Malaya Ulan...The work is super maximalist, super multidisciplinary storytelling, super BONGGA!
Agos (water currents in Tagalog) Y Viento (wind in Spanish) is a contemporary, multimodal Sarswela inspired by Philippine theater styles popular during the Spanish colonial era. This version of the work is told through the lens of a Filipino mother and daughter, reflecting on the often untold connections between Filipino and Latin/Caribbean. We begin this story from our own personal journeys as hyphenated Americans, navigating fear of separation from loved ones… processing through a bit of satire, telenovela acting, dance, and film:)
Featuring our friends in the community: Athena Turek- Hankins, Nikolai McKenzie, Marsell Chavarria, Ansummane Silla and more
