Aging and Sexuality Workshop for Those who Serve Older Adults

Sexuality and sex continue throughout the adult lifespan. But as we age, things might be different or our interests may change. In this workshop, we’ll talk about what is sexual health, how aging and HIV may affect someone’s sex life, and ways to keep having a healthy, safer sex life.

This workshop is focused on providers of any sort (clinical and non-clinical) that serve older adults living with HIV or affected by HIV. All are welcome to sign up and participate.

Learning Objectives:

1. Recognize at least 4 aspects of how sexuality may change for someone while they are aging.
2. State at least 2 health reasons why it is important to recognize that older folks engage in sexual behaviors.
3. Identify how one’s own bias around age affects providing the highest quality services to older adults.
