After5NewYork - Motion & Mind: How Movement Shapes The Brain
About this Event
A Conversation on Movement, Brain Health, and Human Performance
Join a professor and movement educator for Motion and Mind: How Movement Shapes the Brain, an engaging exploration of the powerful connection between physical activity and cognitive health. Drawing on decades of research in neuroscience, physiology, and human performance, this conversation will uncover how movement influences the brain's ability to learn, adapt, focus, and thrive throughout every stage of life.
Together, we'll explore the science behind why movement is far more than a tool for physical fitness. From improving memory, attention, and creativity to reducing stress, supporting emotional well-being, and promoting healthy aging, movement plays a critical role in shaping how our brains function every day. We'll discuss how exercise affects brain chemistry, strengthens neural connections, enhances learning, and supports long-term cognitive resilience.
This is not a conversation about athletic achievement or intense training. It's a thought-provoking look at movement as one of the most powerful and accessible tools for improving brain health and overall well-being. Whether you're interested in neuroscience, personal development, healthy aging, workplace performance, education, or simply understanding how your body and mind work together, you'll leave with a deeper appreciation for how movement can help you think more clearly, feel better, and live more fully.
Don’t miss this chance to connect with your After5Society.
