This year, we are excited to open our doors to the general public, inviting everyone to experience the energy of Capoeira firsthand. Not only do we invite you into our house as a spectator, but also to participate in free introductory Capoeira classes. We'll offer a class specifically designed for children ages 6-13, and another class for teenagers and adults, ensuring that everyone can discover the joy and power of this dynamic art form. Our annual festival is a vibrant celebration of Afro-Brazilian culture, with a special emphasis on the captivating art of Capoeira. The festival's pinnacle is the Batizado, a time-honored ceremony where new Capoeira students are officially welcomed into the community and receive their first cordas (belts). It is a momentous occasion filled with tradition, symbolism, and a palpable sense of community. Students of all levels are recognized for their dedication, hard work, and progress, with many being promoted to their next belt rank. This ceremony is not only a testament to individual achievement but also a celebration of the collective spirit and shared passion that binds the Capoeira community.
