About this Event
African American Quilters of Los Angeles | Panel Discussion
Thursday, January 8 | 7:00 pm
The roots of the African American Quilters of Los Angeles (AAQLA) stretch back to 1986. Its members have evolved into a diverse family of over 140 multi-ethnic individuals, spanning generations, backgrounds, and experience creating not only quilts but stories that reflect struggle and triumph. Join AAQLA members for an inspiring and insightful panel as they share details about culture, expression, and traditions through quilt making. Learn about their creative process and hear the stories behind selected works on view at PMH in the exhibition STORIES, TRADITIONS & DESIGNS: Spotlighting the African American Quilters of Los Angeles.
Space is limited; advance reservations required.
