A FREE, community workshop to learn about housing affordability and how to take action together!
About this Event

This free educational workshop from Connections for the Homeless invites you to come together to learn, reflect, and take action on one of the most urgent challenges facing our neighbors: housing affordability in Gurnee.

Facilitated by Emma, Education and Outreach Specialist at Connections for the Homeless.

This workshop is designed for everyone, no prior knowledge is needed. It is a space for curiosity, learning, and collective responsibility.

Together, we will explore:

  • How housing affordability affects everything in our community — from family stability and education to health and economic opportunity.
  • What is driving rising housing costs, including the policies and systems shaping who can afford to live in Waukegan.
  • How your voice matters, and where advocacy can make a real difference for families at risk of being displaced.
