About this Event

The University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) School of Law invites you to its Fair Housing Conference Thursday September 4- Friday September 5, 2025.

This year’s annual conference will address some of the most pressing issues facing the fair housing community today.A major focus of the conference will be climate and disaster relief and their relationship to housing and lending discrimination. Fires, hurricanes, floods, tornadoes, and severe drought affect the cost and availability of insurance and may give rise to new forms of redlining.Artificial intelligence affects who can rent or buy a home. Can it also be used by fair housing advocates as a tool to fight discrimination? Is the Nation positioned to meet another foreclosure crisis? How do we make effective use of federal and state fair housing laws to ensure equal access to housing for people because of criminal records, source of income, lack of accessibility, and other barriers that impact protected classes? How do we promote the fair housing agenda in times of stress and division with diminishing resources?Because many fair housing organizations and agencies are facing economic challenges that affect their survival, every effort has been made to keep this conference affordable and accessible to all. Your participation is crucial to ensure the nation’s commitment to the fair housing agenda.

CLE: Estimated Hours of General Credit (approval pending)
