Level up your dance while having a blast at our advanced workshop and dance. Note the DIFFERENT VENUE from our regular dance.REGISTRATION REQUIRED! See below.
We'll do complex dances, learn some advanced moves and concepts, and play contra games. To accommodate requests for both more and less class-style teaching, we're changing the format:
5:30 (Optional) Class-style teaching, including video analysis of elite-level dancing at 5:45.
6:00 Dances and games, new concepts taught in walkthroughs.
8:30 (Optional) Socializing, more dancing, one-on-one, as the mood strikes us.
9:00 Everybody out!
Theme: Timing, Flourishes, and Twirls
How do advanced dancers find the time to add in twirls?
How do I safely lead a twirl?
Can robins lead twirls? (YES!)
What are some other flourishes and variations?
How do I lead and follow them?
What if I don't want to twirl and someone leads one?
How do I twirl someone much taller than I am?
What does this feel like in the role I don't usually dance?
It's all low stakes and high fun!
REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

The event is at our home (1425 Twin Oaks Circle, Oviedo, FL), NOT our regular venue. Joe Harrington will call, DJ, and lead the workshop.
Please be PROMPT!
Admission is $10, which supports live music at the regular dances. Students and out-of-work dance free.
We can offer hospitality to a few dancers coming from afar. Message Dancer Joe.
It's open to dancers who can dance basic contra confidently. You should be able to dance through to the end of our regular dances and do a chain with a courtesy turn, a hey, and a California twirl, all while arriving at the next move on time.
