A four-hour, hands-on workshop to learn advanced cocktail techniques and how to modify popular cocktails into bespoke creations.
About this Event

Advanced Bartending Techniques is a four-hour workshop that takes a working bartender from competent to memorable. You'll spend the day on the techniques that separate good bars from great ones — bespoke syrups, bitters as a finishing tool, custom rimming, smoking, and flaming — alongside the commercial skills you actually need on the floor: costing a cocktail, pitching it to a manager, and selling it to a guest.

What this class is

Advanced Bartending Techniques is a four-hour workshop that takes a working bartender from competent to memorable. You'll spend the day on the techniques that separate good bars from great ones — bespoke syrups, bitters as a finishing tool, custom rimming, smoking, and flaming — alongside the commercial skills you actually need on the floor: costing a cocktail, pitching it to a manager, and selling it to a guest.

What you'll learn
  • Advanced garnish prep
  • Make flavoured syrups from scratch
  • Exploring bitters and tinctures
  • Modify classic recipes by swapping herbs, juices, or ratios
  • Practice bar-chef techniques: custom rim, expressed-oil garnish, and flamed citrus
  • How to build, cost and pitch a bespoke cocktail to a manager
  • The art of hosting a cocktail party or private event

Who this is for
  • Commercial Bartending Course graduates and current students looking for the next rung.
  • Working bartenders sharpen their technique and add tricks to their service repertoire.
  • Serious enthusiasts with prior cocktail experience.

What's included
  • Four hours of hands-on instruction with a working bartender as your lead instructor
  • All ingredients, glassware, tools, syrups, and bitters
  • A take-home recipe sheet and the Build Your Own Concept worksheet
  • Cocktail costing worksheet
  • Tasting flights of syrups and bitters throughout the class
  • Every cocktail you build, you drink

Prerequisites

Completion of the Commercial Bartending Course or demonstrable prior bartending experience.

This is not a beginner class. We assume you can already build a classic Old Fashioned, margarita, and gin martini cleanly.
