What is Advanced Apothecary?
This program is thoughtfully designed for those who have completed our 9-month DIY Herbalism course, taking your skills to the next level. The curriculum offers new hands-on experiences in herbal medicine making.
In each session, you'll immerse yourself in advanced techniques like percolation, soxhlet extraction, glycerites, hydrosols, double extracts, cannabis medicine, and beyond. It's a detailed journey into the world of herbal medicine.
We'll also delve deep into essential herbal concepts - tissue states, energetics, formulation, and tongue diagnosis - equipping you with the tools to craft effective, personalized remedies.
What to Expect:
Every class will culminate in crafting something magical, just like in the DIY Herbalism program. With the camaraderie of fellow budding herbalists, you'll leave each session with a newfound treasure.
This 9-month program features monthly gatherings, lasting 3 hours, starting in Spring 2025.
Who Can Join?
While conceived as an extension of our DIY Herbalism program, we extend a warm invitation to kindred spirits who've embarked on a similar foundational herbalism program elsewhere. If you possess a strong foundation in basic herbal techniques - infusions, decoctions, oils, salves, maceration tinctures, syrups, and flower essences - this advanced path is open to you. If you are not a former student of ours but feel you are ready for this course, please send an email to [email protected] describing your past experience and why you wish to take this course.

Additional Notes:
Recommended Equipment: For some of the medicine making techniques taught in this class, you will need some special equipment. For the most part, these will be relatively inexpensive items such as graduated cylinders and sieves. However, the one more pricey piece of equipment that is recommended for all students to try to acquire before the start of the course is a good dehydrator (April prefers the Excalibur brand). A recommended equipment list will be provided when you register, so you can begin preparing and have everything on hand to dive right in when we begin.
Please provide your primary email address when registering! All students will receive a welcome email, so keep an eye out!
