Join us in the studio to learn the basics of making utilitarian objects on the potter’s wheel. This class is designed for those who are new to the wheel, as well as those with experience looking to expand their skill set. Topics will cover technical skills, as well as design principles and practical considerations. Weekly demonstrations will be balanced with supported work time. Continued conversation and weekly check-ins will help students discover what excites them most about the process so they can more fully embrace their unique artistic voices.All ceramics classes include: Class time, your clay, firings, studio glazes, tools, and equipment.
Class Requirements
Come dressed in clothes you don’t mind getting a little messy—while clay washes out, it’s best to keep your fancy outfits at home. If you wear jewelry, please avoid large or dangling pieces.
For safety and comfort, we recommend short nails, tying back your hair, and wearing closed-back shoes.
