Join local printmaker Michael Weatherly for an exploration of mixed media monoprinting. Fresh from an intensive 18-day printmaking workshop in Florence, Italy, Michael is excited to share new techniques and creative approaches with students.
Monoprinting is a versatile and accessible printmaking process in which ink is rolled, painted, or drawn onto a plate to create one-of-a-kind prints. This class will explore monotype, collage, and chine collé techniques using Akua non-toxic, water-based inks.
Participants of all experience levels will learn how to mix, layer, and manipulate inks while incorporating drawing, collage, and multi-plate printing methods to create rich, expressive imagery.
The workshop encourages experimentation and creative exploration, opening the door to new possibilities in printmaking.
All materials are provided. Participants are encouraged to bring inkjet printouts or images they may wish to incorporate into their work.
