This session is perfect for complete beginners or those who’ve had a little go on a paddleboard but haven’t had any formal coaching yet. The focus is to give you a safe, enjoyable first experience on the water, so you finish feeling confident and wanting to come back for more.
This is a low-impact session with no long journeys or strenuous paddling — we keep things nice and gentle throughout.
We take things slowly, covering all the basics, such as how to stand up safely, find your balance, perform basic paddling strokes, and get comfortable on the water.
This session follows the Paddle UK Start Award, so if you’d like, you can work towards that award as you go along. It’s completely optional.
This is an adults-only session.
The natural next step after this session is our Building Your Paddle Skills session.
