Adaptive Martial Arts Group Session

**Could martial arts be adapted for you?**
One of the questions I've been asked recently is whether someone with a disability, mobility difficulty, learning disability or mental health challenge can learn karate.
My answer is simple...
**Yes.**
At Colchester Wado Ryu Karate, I believe martial arts should be adapted around the individual wherever possible, not the other way around.
Over the years I've had the privilege of working with children and adults from many different backgrounds, including those with physical disabilities, autism, brain injuries, learning disabilities, trauma and anxiety. Every person is different, which is why every journey begins with a personal **Discovery Session**.
Together, we'll explore:
What you would like to achieve.
How your body moves and what feels comfortable.
Techniques that can be adapted to suit your abilities.
Confidence, personal safety and practical self-defence.
A realistic pathway that allows you to progress at your own pace.
This isn't about comparing yourself to anyone else.
It isn't about proving what you can do.
It's about discovering what **is** possible.
Whether you use a wheelchair, walking aids, live with a neurological condition, experience anxiety, have a learning disability, or simply feel that traditional classes aren't designed for you, I'd be delighted to have a conversation with you.
Every journey starts with a single step... and sometimes that first step simply begins with a chat.
If you'd like to find out more about our **Adaptive Discovery Sessions**, send me a private message, visit our website, or check out the link in the comments to book your adaptive discovery session.
I'd love to help you discover what you're capable of.
