Viewpoints Gallery is thrilled to announce our March 2025 exhibition, “Abundance,” by California artist Georgesse Gomez. This exquisite new collection invites viewers to pause and reflect on the beauty that surrounds us in our everyday lives. Georgesse’s new oil works gently remind viewers that abundance surrounds us, offering moments of beauty that are revealed when we slow down enough to experience the treasures that life has to offer. In each piece, the artist invites viewers into quiet spaces where she finds relief from the noise of the world. “Abundance” was inspired by Georgesse’s favorite Saturday morning ritual, visiting local farm stands, where she is treated to experiences that delight the senses. Each week, she leaves these farm stands with colorful, vibrant organic produce that invigorates both her senses of sight and taste. The radiance of red and yellow-orange beets next to a red onion brings the promise of a richly prepared grain bowl. The warm simplicity of a rustic artisan baked bread with a glass of red wine is perfect for a cold rainy evening. These simple foods, brought to life with Georgesse’s masterful brushstrokes, bring peace to the soul and comfort to the body. With each deftly painted piece, Georgesse invites viewers into her life of simple abundance.

Georgesse returned to her childhood love, fine art painting, after giving herself permission to be her genuine self. Her journey of self-discovery culminated in her decision to earn a Master of Fine Art in Drawing and Painting from the Academy of Art University sin San Francisco. The first day she walked into class, Georgesse knew she had come home. She completed her MFA in 2016 and today, she passes on her love of the arts through her teaching positions at Monterey Peninsula College and Hartnell College. Teaching art allows Georgesse to share her skills, knowledge and passion for art, tools that will bring exponential joy to her students.
