Ready to explore abstract watercolor painting? Join artist Gary Johnson for a 3-day immersive workshop designed to help you create abstract watercolor paintings by design.
In this workshop, you’ll learn:
✨ Gridding techniques
✨ The importance of white space
✨ Ways to create texture
✨ How line influences composition
✨ Key elements and principles of design including:
• Value
• Texture
• Shape and line
• Repetition with variety
• Contrast and conflict (large vs. small, smooth vs. rough)
• Dominance (geometric vs. curvilinear)
• Warm vs. cool color relationships
Gary will guide you through a step-by-step process that will strengthen your design skills and help you approach abstract watercolor with confidence and creativity.
