Above and Below the Streets of NY with the Leica SL3-P presented by Leica
About this Event
We invite you to join Leica Ambassador Lauren Welles as she explores streets and subways of New York City with the new Leica SL3-P.
Lauren has always been attracted to ideas and stories that display our commonalities as people, as she believes that, as human beings, we are much more alike than we are different. Lauren has tremendous experience with many different kinds of assignments—events, portraits, editorial, street/documentary, and architectural/interiors. As a result, Lauren has had the good fortune of meeting and working with many different people, finding stories in every-day life that demonstrate one’s humanity, and figuring out how to bring out the best in any subject.
Lauren is a freelance photographer and former corporate attorney who left an unfulfilling, 16-year career, to follow her passion for photography. One of her greatest joys is to make candid photographs of people, in which a single frame can tell a multitude stories. Lauren’s photography has received several awards and has been exhibited at various venues around the world, including: "The Fence" at Photoville, the Museum of the City of New York, The Half King Photo Series, Coolture Impact’s exhibit in Times Square, in New York City. Her work and interviews have been published in various publications, including the New York Times; La Repubblica, CBS News, The New Yorker, Slate Magazine, various street photography books and the documentary film “Fill the Frame.” She also conducts private workshops and teaches photography for the Leica Akademie.
