FUNDAMENTALS 102 : THE NEXT STEPS. AUGUST 15th and 22nd
About this Event
Ready to move beyond the basics? Fundamentals 102 is a two-session class designed for photographers who already understand the basic exposure triangle and want to gain even more creative control over their images.
This class builds on the foundation of shutter speed, aperture, ISO, and focus while introducing more advanced techniques for improving composition, exposure, lighting, and camera control. Students will learn how to make more intentional decisions behind the camera and solve problems creatively under real-world conditions. By exploring and practicing the same techniques professional photographers use to solve problems, you can take your photography to a whole new level.
Across two sessions, we will cover topics such as:
- Advanced Camera Settings
- Manual exposure refinement
- Exposure compensation
- Depth of field control
- Motion blur and action freezing
- Using specialty filters
- White balance and color control
- Flash Photography
- Understanding natural light
- Lens choice and perspective
- Practical shooting exercises and image review
Students should have a basic working knowledge of their camera and be comfortable adjusting aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. This class is ideal for those who have taken the Fundamentals of Photography or have equivalent experience.
By the end of the class, students should feel more confident using their camera creatively, solving common shooting challenges, and making stronger technical and artistic choices in real-world situations.
Class Format: Two sessions (Saturdays – 1pm to 3pm)
Skill Level: Beginner-plus to intermediate
