Join us for an Aboriginal Family History workshop, designed to help you dive into your family history with confidence.
About this Event

Whether you’re just starting out or have hit a roadblock in your research, this hands-on session is for anyone eager to explore their roots.

The workshop is led by Aletha and Ben, full-time researchers with the Link-Up NSW Family Link Program. We will guide you step-by-step through the process of starting your research, recording your evidence and the features of Ancestry.com library edition.

Feel free to bring your own laptop or device and start your search on the day. Otherwise, please let us know if you will need access to one of our computers. We will be there to provide personalised guidance, answer questions, and help you uncover your family tree.

About the Facilitators:

Aletha Rowan: Aletha has been a professional family history researcher since 2008 with nine years’ experience working for removed people at Link-Up NSW. She is a qualified researcher with the Society of Australian Genealogists.

Ben Hosford: Ben holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Newcastle and a Master of Information Studies from Charles Sturt University. He is a qualified researcher with experience facilitating workshops on a wide range of topics for participants with varying skill levels.

• Your attendance at events supported by Eurobodalla Libraries may be digitally recorded through photographs and/or video recordings. Images may be used for promotional purposes on council’s websites, publications, social media or by newspapers. By attending this session you agree to these terms. If you do not wish your image to be published, please notify staff before the event.
• Bookings are essential and spaces are limited.
• A maximum of 4 tickets can be booked.

Cancellations

• Our events often book out. If you are unable to attend, please let us know before the event so we can allocate your spot to another person.
• Occasionally, we need to cancel an event due to insufficient bookings or unforeseen circumstances. If we need to cancel an event you will be notified via email or telephone.
