The People of Stonehaven Harbour
With local author David Fleming
Join us at Charles Michies Pharmacy for another Aberdeen Talks lecture as we welcome local historian and author David Fleming.
David will share the remarkable stories behind his newly published book, The People of Stonehaven Harbour, exploring over 500 years of history centred around one of Scotland's most iconic harbours.
From fishermen, harbour masters and shipbuilders to merchants, lifeboat crews and local families, discover the people whose lives and livelihoods shaped Stonehaven Harbour through the centuries. The talk also uncovers tales of maritime trade, engineering achievements, storms, shipwrecks and the changing community that has made the harbour such an important part of the North East's heritage. The book traces the harbour's evolution from a natural cove to the vibrant landmark we know today.
Our cafe will be open in advance offering our usual selection of teas, coffees and home bakes!
