ABC7 News Feature on 20-8 (Time TBD)

Brothers and Sisters,
I’ve been contacted by a reporter from ABC7 Sarasota who would like to feature our chapter in a special Independence Day story.
The segment will highlight the recent repatriation and interment of Tech Sergeant Charles Palmer, Jr., a 20-year-old B-24 turret gunner with the U.S. Army Air Forces who was killed in action over Germany more than 82 years ago. TSgt Palmer was laid to rest at Sarasota National Cemetery on June 8th.
The reporter is interested in including members of Chapter 20-8 to provide the perspective of today’s veterans on the significance of our nation’s 250th birthday, especially in light of the sacrifices made by those who came before us.
We are tentatively scheduled to meet the ABC7 crew at Sarasota National Cemetery (pending VA approval) for group footage and individual interviews.
After speaking with our Commander, we both agree this is an excellent opportunity for 20-8 to turn out strong, demonstrate the strength of our brotherhood, showcase our patriotism, and honor our fallen as we prepare to celebrate the 4th of July.
A specific time has not yet been confirmed. I will speak with the reporter tomorrow or Tuesday to lock in the details. Please keep your schedule as flexible as possible on **Tuesday, June 23rd**.
