Abbie Gardner & Sean Kiely Live In Ridgewood
About this Event
Named a “triple threat” by Bluegrass Unlimited, Abbie Gardner has made a name for herself as one of the the only solo dobro troubadours in the country. Don’t let her infectious smile fool you, beneath that radiant exterior lies the soul of a fierce and fiery slide guitar player. You might know her best from her work with Americana darlings Red Molly, but Abbie Gardner centered her own gritty, sweet tales of love and loss on her 2022 solo album DobroSinger. It reached #11 on the Billboard Blues chart.
Her next record, produced by Jano Rix of the Wood Brothers, comes out in May 2027. She’s a Kerrville New Folk Finalist (2025) and was nominated for Folk Alliance International’s Artist of the Year (2025). Her live show is truly unique – heartfelt vocals and warm stage presence, backed up by top notch picking on an instrument that is more typically in the background. Come for the heartfelt, intimate ballads and stay for the raw, bluesy picking. Gardner’s got all your musical bases covered.
Sean Kiely is a singer, songwriter, and guitarist from Jersey City, NJ. His music starts in folk and ends up somewhere harder to name: acoustic at its core, but restless enough to pull in americana, jazz, and whatever else the song asks for. His lyrics are patient and precise, chasing ordinary moments to conclusions that feel both surprising and inevitable. An "alt-folksonger”, present for the cosmic joke.
The new 9 song album Long Live The Low (Multiple Logo) finds Kiely backed up by an impressive group of collaborating musicians: expansive, genre-defying creative voices including Bobby Hawk (Phoebe Bridgers, Bleachers), Chris Morrissey (Norah Jones, Margaret Glaspy), Bill Campbell (Andrew Bird, Kurt Rosenwinkel), and Juno Award winning Canadian singer-songwriter and banjoist Kaia Kater. Sean is a recipient of the 2024 Nerfa Songwriting Award.
Whether it's a quiet solo set or the fuller, more textured arrangements on his records, Sean Kiely is a writer to watch .. to hear — quietly growing into one of the finest young musicians on the scene today.
