Reflecting feedback from our members and past attendees, the 2026 conference will place a strong emphasis on clinically practical content. For the first time, we are extending our conference to 3 full days, with an increased clinician focus.
This year’s conference theme is “Evolving practice: curiosity, context and connection”.
This theme highlights three elements that remain central to effective practice. Curiosity supports strong formulation and helps clinicians remain open, reflective, and responsive. Context reminds us that psychological difficulties are shaped by developmental, relational, cultural, and systemic factors, and that evidence-based practice must be adapted thoughtfully to the real-world settings in which therapy occurs. Connection, including the quality of the therapeutic relationship and our capacity to work collaboratively, remains central to engagement, learning, and meaningful change.
We invite you to join us in 2026 to share knowledge, connect with new and familiar faces from across the AACBT community, and contribute to the ongoing development of evidence-based practice in Australia.
